Send the document, not the rumour

One form reaches the whole desk. A document with a link or an attachment is read first; a question about a filing is read second; a general note is read when the week allows.

What to send

  • Corrections
The filing date, the sentence, and the document that contradicts it.
  • Documents
Orders in council, committee dissents, tribunal reasons, agreements, or a link to a public registry entry.
  • Records requests
A description of the record and the institution holding it. The desk does not file requests on behalf of readers, but it will say where a request should go.
  • Syndication and classroom use
Quotation with attribution is permitted. Whole-filing republication needs an arrangement, and the form is the way to start one.
The desk does not publish an address or a phone number. Everything arrives through this form, including correspondence meant for the standards editor.

Documents and links welcome

Correspondence is kept for two years, then deleted. Names and reply addresses are not added to a list, and no third-party service receives them.
